Design, synthesis and simulation of fractional-order element using MOS transistors as distributed resistive capacitive devices

open access: yesScientific Reports
The article presents a synthesis method to design electrical circuit elements with fractional-order impedance, referred to as a Fractional-Order Element (FOE) or Fractor, that can be implemented by Metal–Oxide–Semiconductor (MOS) transistors.

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

A Galerkin finite element technique with Iweobodo-Mamadu-Njoseh wavelet (IMNW) basis function for the solution of time-fractional advection–diffusion problems

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
In this paper, the authors used wavelet-based Galerkin finite element technique constructed with Iweobodo-Mamadu-Njoseh wavelet as the basis function, for the numerical solution of time-fractional advection–diffusion equations.

Fractional order memcapacitive neuromorphic elements reproduce and predict neuronal function

open access: yesScientific Reports
AbstractThere is an increasing need to implement neuromorphic systems that are both energetically and computationally efficient. There is also great interest in using electric elements with memory, memelements, that can implement complex neuronal functions intrinsically.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Implementation Method and Bench Testing of Fractional-Order Biquadratic Transfer Function-Based Mechatronic ISD Suspension

open access: yesSensors
To address the challenge of physically realizing fractional-order electrical networks, this study proposes an implementation method for a mechatronic inerter–spring–damper (ISD) suspension based on a fractional-order biquadratic transfer function ...

Nationwide Survey of Atopic Myelitis and Plexin D1‐Immunoglobulin G‐Related Pain

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To elucidate the features of plexin D1‐immunoglobulin (Ig)G‐associated neuropathic pain and its relationship to atopic myelitis (AM) in a nationwide Japanese survey. Methods A preliminary survey questionnaire was sent to 1574 selected departments (neurology and pediatrics/pediatric neurology) to explore the numbers of AM and plexin ...

Reduced Muscular Carnosine in Proximal Myotonic Myopathy—A Pilot 1H‐MRS Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Myotonic dystrophy type 2 (proximal myotonic myopathy, PROMM) is a progressive multisystem disorder with muscular symptoms (proximal weakness, pain, myotonia) and systemic manifestations such as diabetes mellitus, cataracts, and cardiac arrhythmias.
