Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Mathematical Analysis of Discrete Fractional Prey-Predator Model with Fear Effect and Square Root Functional Response

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2022
This paper investigates the dynamics of a discrete fractional prey-predator system. The prey-predator interaction is modelled using the square root functional response, which appropriately models systems in which the prey exhibits a strong herd structure,

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Reduced–Order Perfect Nonlinear Observers of Fractional Descriptor Discrete–Time Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2017
The purpose of this work is to propose and characterize fractional descriptor reduced-order perfect nonlinear observers for a class of fractional descriptor discrete-time nonlinear systems.

Inverse Problem for a Time Fractional Parabolic Equation with Nonlocal Boundary Conditions

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
This article considers an inverse problem of time fractional parabolic partial differential equations with the nonlocal boundary condition. Dirichlet-measured output data are used to distinguish the unknown coefficient.

Global stability of discrete-time non-linear systems with descriptor standard and fractional positive linear parts and scalar feedbacks [PDF]

open access: yesArchives of Control Sciences, 2020
The global stability of discrete-time nonlinear systems with descriptor positive linear parts and positive scalar feedbacks is addressed. Sufficient conditions for the global stability of standard and fractional nonlinear systems are established.

Coherence fraction

open access: yesQuantum Information Processing, 2019
The concept of entanglement fraction is generalized to define coherence fraction of a quantum state. Precisely, it quantifies the proximity of a quantum state to maximally coherent state and it can be used as a measure of coherence. Coherence fraction has a connection with $l_1$-norm coherence and provides the criteria of coherence distillability ...

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Optimizing a Bayesian Method for Estimating the Hurst Exponent in Behavioral Sciences

open access: yesAxioms
The Bayesian Hurst–Kolmogorov (HK) method estimates the Hurst exponent of a time series more accurately than the age-old Detrended Fluctuation Analysis (DFA), especially when the time series is short.
