Analysis of Infection and Diffusion Coefficient in an SIR Model by Using Generalized Fractional Derivative

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
In this article, a diffusion component in an SIR model is introduced, and its impact is analyzed using fractional calculus. We have included the diffusion component in the SIR model. in order to illustrate the variations.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Dynamic Analysis of a Fractional-Order Economic Model: Chaos and Control

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
Fractional calculus in discrete-time is a recent field that has drawn much interest for dealing with multidisciplinary systems. A result of this tremendous potential, researchers have been using constant and variable-order fractional discrete calculus in

Calculus of variations involving Caputo-Fabrizio fractional differentiation [PDF]

open access: yesStatistics, Optimization & Information Computing, 2018
This paper is devoted to study some variational problems with functionals containing the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional derivative, that is a fractional derivative with a non-singular kernel.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Fractional-Order Deterministic Learning for Fast and Robust Detection of Sub-Synchronous Oscillations in Wind Power Systems

open access: yesMathematics
This work explores the issue of identifying sub-synchronous oscillations (SSOs). Regular detection techniques face issues with response timings to variations in viewpoint and adaptability to variations in conditions of the system but our proposed method ...

A Spatially Adaptive Edge-Preserving Denoising Method Based on Fractional-Order Variational PDEs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Image denoising is a basic problem in image processing. An important task of image denoising is to preserve the significant geometric features such as edges and textures while filtering out noise. So far, this is still a problem to be further studied. In
