Treatment of idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis with fractional carbon dioxide lasers

Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy, 2013
Abstract Objective: Idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis (IGH) is an acquired leukoderma found in all races. The treatment of choice is still controversial. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of CO2FL on IGH. Methods: A total of 240 patients with IGH were enrolled.

Reduction of thickened flap using fractional carbon dioxide laser

Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 2011
AbstractBackground and ObjectiveThe paramedian forehead flap is an excellent choice when repairing a large nasal defect. However, even when carefully thinned, the flap may develop a bulky appearance, an ill‐fitting contour, or trap door deformity. When on the face, these suboptimal results can be quite distressing. Surgical and non‐surgical options for

Fractional carbon dioxide laser therapy for treating cicatricial lagophthalmos

Clinical and Experimental Dermatology
We report a patient with cicatricial lagophthalmos treated with fractional carbon dioxide (CO₂) laser therapy. The treatment resulted in significant clinical improvement, suggesting that fractional CO₂ laser may be an effective therapeutic option for this challenging condition.

Improvement of Surgical Scars by Early Intervention With Carbon Dioxide Fractional Laser

Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, 2019
Background and ObjectivesLaser therapy during the early stage of wound healing can reduce surgical scar formation. Previous clinical trials showed that ablative fractional laser (AFL) therapy might have achieved the best outcomes; however, there was no consensus on the laser therapy protocol.

Fractional carbon dioxide laser and topical tioconazole in the treatment of fingernail onychomycosis

Lasers in Medical Science, 2019
Onychomycosis is a common chronic-resistant nail disease. Traditional treatment has its limitations and side effects. This study aimed to evaluate the role of fractional CO2 laser and topical tioconazole 28% nail lacquer in the treatment of fingernail onychomycosis, as sole treatment modalities and in combination.

Treatment of Lymphangioma Circumscriptum Using Fractional Carbon Dioxide Laser Ablation

Pediatric Dermatology, 2013
AbstractLymphangioma circumscriptum remains a challenging entity to treat given anatomic considerations and a significant tendency for recurrence regardless of the modality selected. Surgical excision offers the greatest potential for definitive management but is often beset by procedural morbidity and suboptimal cosmetic outcomes.

Comparison of the Scar Prevention Effect Between a Carbon Dioxide Fractional Laser and a Continuous Ablative Carbon Dioxide Laser with a 595-nm Nd:YAG Laser

Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 2018
A linear surgical scar, when located in the head and neck region, can be a significant cosmetic concern. Laser skin resurfacing with a fractional laser and a pulsed dye laser has been proven to be useful for treating such scars. As alternatives, we used a classic ablative CO2 laser in continuous mode with a 1-mm spot size and a 595-nm Nd:YAG laser.

The role of transforming growth factor β1 in fractional laser resurfacing with a carbon dioxide laser

Lasers in Medical Science, 2013
The aim of this study was to investigate the role of transforming growth factor β1 in mechanisms of cutaneous remodeling induced by fractional carbon dioxide laser treatment. The dorsal skin of Kunming mice was exposed to a single-pass fractional CO2 laser treatment.

The role of vascular endothelial growth factor in fractional laser resurfacing with the carbon dioxide laser

Lasers in Medical Science, 2011
The aim of this study was to analyze the role of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in mechanisms of cutaneous remodeling induced by fractional CO(2) laser treatment. The dorsal skin of Kunming mice was exposed to a single-pass fractional CO(2) laser treatment. Biopsies were taken 1 h, and 1, 3, 7, 14, 28 and 56 days after treatment.
