Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Applications of the generalized gamma function to a fractional-order biological system

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
In this work, variety of complex dynamics are found in a fractional-order antimicrobial resistance (AMR) model based on the generalized Gamma function.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Transient Dynamics of a Fractional Fisher Equation

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
We investigate the transient dynamics of the Fisher equation under nonlinear diffusion and fractional operators. Firstly, we investigate the effects of the nonlinear diffusivity parameter in the integer-order Fisher equation, by considering a Gaussian ...

Special Fractional-Order Map and Its Realization

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Recent works have focused the analysis of chaotic phenomena in fractional discrete memristor. However, most of the papers have been related to simulated results on the system dynamics rather than on their hardware implementations.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Simple wald tests of the fractional integration parameter: an overview of new results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Forthcoming 2008This paper presents an overview of some new results regarding an easily implementable Wald test-statistic (EFDF test) of the null hypotheses that a time-series process is I(1) or I(0) against fractional I(d) alternatives, with d ∈ (0, 1),

The integral model of fractional Thomson self-oscillator

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы, 2014
A numerical model of self-oscillating system with an integral equation of motion is designed. The results of modeling transient process of self-oscillations are presented.

Fractional Dynamics of Information Entropy in Quantum Wire System Under Rashba Interaction

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
We present a theoretical examination of the fractional dynamics of information entropy within a semiconductor nanowire system influenced by Rashba spin–orbit interaction and external magnetic fields.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
