Non-Linear Langevin and Fractional Fokker-Planck Equations for Anomalous Diffusion by Levy Stable Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The~numerical solutions to a non-linear Fractional Fokker--Planck (FFP) equation are studied estimating the generalized diffusion coefficients. The~aim is to model anomalous diffusion using an FFP description with fractional velocity derivatives and ...

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

A Caputo (discretization) fractional-order model of glucose-insulin interaction: numerical solution and comparisons with experimental data

open access: yesJournal of Taibah University for Science, 2021
In this paper, we investigate a (discretization) Caputo fractional glucose-insulin model qualitatively with incommensurate orders that appear in Bergman's minimal model.

A New Numerical Scheme for Time Fractional Diffusive SEAIR Model with Non-Linear Incidence Rate: An Application to Computational Biology

open access: yesFractal and Fractional, 2022
In this paper, we propose a modified fractional diffusive SEAIR epidemic model with a nonlinear incidence rate. A constructed model of fractional partial differential equations (PDEs) is more general than the corresponding model of fractional ordinary ...

Fractional Relaxation and Fractional Oscillation Models Involving Erdélyi-Kober Integrals [PDF]

open access: yesFractional Calculus and Applied Analysis, 2015
We consider fractional relaxation and fractional oscillation equations involving Erdelyi-Kober integrals. In terms of Riemann-Liouville integrals, the equations we analyze can be understood as equations with time-varying coefficients. Replacing Riemann-Liouville integrals with Erdelyi-Kober-type integrals in certain fractional oscillation models, we ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Fractional Einstein-Hilbert Action Cosmology

open access: yes, 2013
We propose a new type of cosmological model derived from the fractional variational principle when it is applied to the gravitational sector of action functional.

A fractional model for the dynamics of competition between commercial and rural banks in Indonesia

open access: yesChaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2019
In the present paper, we propose a mathematical model that describes the dynamics of competition between commercial and rural banks in Indonesia through two different fractional operators Atangana-Baleanu and Caputo.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...
