Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Comparison of Fractional Order Modelling and Integer Order Modelling of Fractional Order Buck Converter in Continuous Condition Mode Operation

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2016
Producing a mathematical model with high accuracy is the first and important step in control of systems. Nowadays fractional calculus has been in the spotlight and it has a lot of application especially in control engineering. Fractional modelling on one

Fractional Order Tube Model Reference Adaptive Control for a Class of Fractional Order Linear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2020
We introduce a novel fractional order adaptive control design based on the tube model reference adaptive control (TMRAC) scheme for a class of fractional order linear systems. By considering an adaptive state feedback control configuration, the main idea

dUTPase is essential in zebrafish development and possesses several single‐nucleotide variants with pronounced structural and functional consequences

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Fractional-Order Modeling and Steady-State Analysis of Single-Phase Quasi-Z-Source Pulse Width Modulation Rectifier

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper focuses on the fractional-order modeling and analysis of single-phase quasi-Z-source rectifier (qZSR), aims to extend the single-phase qZSR from integer-order domain to fractional-order domain. Additionally, it has been demonstrated explicitly

Differential regulation of ZFAS1 splice variants by endoplasmic reticulum stress in hepatocyte cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Indirect sliding mode adaptive fractional order nonlinear observer based controller with fractional order single-ended primary inductor converter

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Direct Current to Direct Current (DC/DC) converters like the SEPIC (Single-Ended Primary-Inductor Converter) use both passive and active components to control the system via a duty cycle. The SEPIC converter is non-inverting and can both step up and step

Realization of fractional order controllers [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2003
An approach to realizations of fractional-order controllers is presented. The suggested approach is based on the use of continued fraction expansions.
