Experimental Study on Fracture Conductivity in Hydraulic Fracturing

2019
Due to high strength, ceramic is used in deepand ultra-deep reservoir, and sand is used in shallow reservoir. However, sandis cheaper than ceramic. In the field, the mixture of these two proppants havebeen pumped to improve the economic production. At present, there is no one toevaluate the conductivity of proppants with mixture of sand and ceramic ...

Fracture Conductivity Comparison of Ceramic Proppants

Society of Petroleum Engineers Journal, 1985
AbstractLightweight, intermediate-strength proppants have been developed that are intermediate in cost between sand and bauxite. A wide variety of proppant materials is characterized and compared in a laboratory fracture conductivity study. Consistent sample preparation, test, and data reduction procedures were practiced, which allow a relative ...

Electrical conductance as the predictor of fracture healing

Hard Tissue, 2013
Introduction Measurement of electrical conductance can be a useful tool for early diagnosis of delayed and non-union of fractured bone. Their role and relationship with the frequency of supplied alternating current has been studied here for the measurement of fracture healing. Materials and methods About 12 patients, between 18 and 50 years of age with

Evaluation and Optimization of Low-Conductivity Fractures

SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference, 2007
Abstract This paper presents the results of an investigation of the design and analysis of low conductivity fractures. The mathematical model used in this work is a practical alternative to estimate the degree of stimulation by means of a Stimulation Index (SD) and for evaluating the efficiency of wells with low conductivity ...

Interpretation of stress damage on fracture conductivity

Journal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 1997
Abstract This paper focuses on the investigation of pressure responses in a well producing through a composite system of a stress-sensitive vertical symmetric or asymmetric fracture interacting with a stress-sensitive permeable-porous medium. Results of this investigation demonstrate that when the fracture conductivity is stress dependent, the use ...

Transmissivity and conductivity of single fractures

2015
A fracture can be seen as a void space between two rough surfaces in partial contact. Transmissivity and conductivity can be determined numerically by solving the Stokes and Laplace equations between these two surfaces. These problems were first solved and published by the same authors between 1995 and 2001.

Conductivity of Fracture Proppants in Multiple Layers

Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1973
The fluid conductivity of a hydraulic fracture is critical in determining the effectiveness of the fracturing treatment. Two factors considered here can greatly affect that conductivity. First is the reservoir environment; for example, the presence of hot brine can reduce the permeability of brittle proppants under stress.

Design And Analysis Of A Fracture With Changing Conductivity

Journal of Canadian Petroleum Technology, 1986
Abstract Most reservoirs fracture studies assume uniform fracture conductivity, however, proppant crushed by closure stress can reduce fracture conductivity near the wellbore. Sometimes, operators place a higher conductivity proppant near the wellbore.
