Determination of strength and debonding energy of a glass-concrete interface for encapsulation-based self-healing concrete [PDF]
This paper presents a combined experimental-numerical analysis to assess the strength and fracture toughness of a glass-concrete interface. This interface is present in encapsulation-based self-healing concrete.

EVOLUTION AND HEALING OF FRAGILITY FRACTURES OF THE PROXIMAL FEMUR [PDF]
After a traumatic fracture a physiological process begins to heal the fracture. The steps of the process are inflammation, granulation, formation of fibrous callus and finally bone.

Stem Cell Interventions for Bone Healing: Fractures and Osteoporosis [PDF]
With the ageing population, musculoskeletal conditions are becoming more inherent. Delayed union is defined as a slower than normal fracture healing response, with no healing after 4 to 6 months; however, union is anticipated given sufficient time.

Optimum Design of Printable Tunable Stiffness Metamaterial for Bone Healing [PDF]
A tunable stiffness bone rod was designed, optimized, and 3D printed to address the common shortcomings of existing bone rods in the healing of long fractured bones. The common deficiencies of existing bone fixations are high stiffness, thereby negligible flexibility in deformation for best bone growth results, and stress-shielding effect.

Generation of a femoral non-union model utilizing phosphate deficient mice [PDF]
Thesis (M.A.)--Boston UniversityFracture non-unions occur when the biological process of fracture healing fails to complete. The events that occur in the fracture healing process of mice are similar to the events that occur in humans. Inorganic phosphate

Small RNAs in skeletal tissue homeostasis and fracture healing [PDF]
Long bone fracture is a common injury which could result from a fall, shock, sports injury or a disease such as osteoporosis. Fracture healing involves multiple partly overlapping steps including inflammation, endochondral ossification, angiogenesis and ...

On the mechanical properties of novamene: a fully atomistic molecular dynamics and DFT investigation [PDF]
We have investigated through fully atomistic reactive molecular dynamics and DFT simulations, the mechanical properties and fracture dynamics of novamene, a new 3D carbon allotrope structure recently proposed. Our results showed that novamene is an anisotropic structure with relation to tensile deformation.
