The outflows accelerated by the magnetic fields and radiation force of accretion disks

open access: yes, 2014
The inner region of a luminous accretion disk is radiation pressure dominated. We estimate the surface temperature of a radiation pressure dominated accretion disk, \Theta=(c_s/r\Omega_K ...

Radiative signature of magnetic fields in internal shocks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Common models of blazars and gamma-ray bursts assume that the plasma underlying the ob- served phenomenology is magnetized to some extent. Within this context, radiative signatures of dissipation of kinetic and conversion of magnetic energy in internal ...

Groundwater Ages in Intertill and Buried Valley Aquifers in Saskatchewan, Canada

open access: yesGroundwater, Volume 63, Issue 2, Page 160-174, March/April 2025.
Abstract Continental glaciations during the Pleistocene Epoch created complex systems of aquifers and aquitards across many northern regions of the Earth. The low hydraulic conductivities of glacial till aquitards suggest that limited recharge will reach the underlying aquifers, potentially preserving old groundwaters.

RDA, ovvero, Il lungo viaggio del catalogo verso l'era digitale

open access: yesJLIS.it, 2016
RDA was created in response to complaints about the Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, especially the call for a more international, principle-based content standard that takes the perspective of the conceptual models of FRBR (Functional Requirements for ...

Simulation of radiation driven wind from disc galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We present 2-D hydrodynamic simulation of rotating galactic winds driven by radiation. We study the structure and dynamics of the cool and/or warm component($T \simeq 10^4$ K) which is mixed with dust.

Examining the Power Law Relationship Between Absorption and Frequency Using Spectral Riometer Data

open access: yesRadio Science, Volume 60, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract High frequency radio wave propagation is sensitive to absorption in the D and lower E‐region ionosphere. Absorption models typically characterize attenuation expected at 30 MHz, meaning scaling relationships are required to map to absorption expected at other frequencies.

Evolution of Protoplanetary Discs with Magnetically Driven Disc Winds

open access: yes, 2016
Aims: We investigate the evolution of protoplanetary discs (PPDs hereafter) with magnetically driven disc winds and viscous heating. Methods: We consider an initially massive disc with ~0.1 Msun to track the evolution from the early stage of PPDs.

FraC/FraD‐dependent intercellular molecular exchange in the filaments of a heterocyst‐forming cyanobacterium, Anabaena sp.

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, 2011
SummaryThe filamentous, heterocyst‐forming cyanobacteria are multicellular organisms in which two different cell types, the CO2‐fixing vegetative cells and the N2‐fixing heterocysts, exchange nutrients and regulators. In Anabaena sp. strain PCC 7120, inactivation of sepJ or genes in the fraC operon (fraC, fraD and fraE) produce filament fragmentation ...

Self Consistent Modeling of Relativistic Runaway Electron Beams Giving Rise to Terrestrial Gamma‐Rays Flashes

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 129, Issue 5, May 2024.
Abstract Terrestrial Gamma Ray Flashes (TGFs) are short bursts of gamma rays occurring during thunderstorms. They are believed to be produced by Relativistic Runaway Electron Avalanches (RREAs). In this paper, we present a new numerical model based on the Particle‐In‐Cell (PIC) method to simulate the interactions between the electromagnetic fields and ...

Effect of Vacuum Energy on Evolution of Primordial Black Holes in Einstein Gravity

open access: yes, 2011
We study the evolution of primordail black holes by considering present universe is no more matter dominated rather vacuum energy dominated. We also consider the accretion of radiation, matter and vacuum energy during respective dominance period. In this
