Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

DEVELOPMENT OF FRAGILITY CURVES FOR REINFORCED DUNES

open access: yesCoastal Engineering Proceedings, 2018
The objective of this paper is to present the results of on-going field studies to assess the performance of geotextile sand-filled container (GSC) reinforced dunes and to develop probabilistic fragility curves for a range of damage states to these structures.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Probabilistic seismic assessment of concrete frame with mass irregularity

open access: yesИнженерно-строительный журнал, 2018
As mass irregular structures are more influencing on the behavior of the structures, it is investigated the effect of these irregularities according to the probabilistic approach.

IDA-Based Seismic Fragility Analysis of a Concrete-Filled Square Tubular Frame

open access: yesBuildings
Based on the incremental dynamic analysis (IDA) method, this paper conducts seismic fragility analysis of a CFST plane frame, a CFST spatial frame under 1D (one-dimensional) ground motions, and a CFST spatial frame under 2D (two-dimensional) ground ...

Update of control parameters for semi‐actively controlled base‐isolated building to improve seismic performance

open access: yesJapan Architectural Review, 2019
The Sosokan building of Keio University located in Yokohama, Japan, is a base‐isolated building with a semi‐active control system. The semi‐active dampers’ damping coefficient is changed to best reproduce the optimal control force in linear‐quadratic ...

Seismic Vulnerability Assessment of a Shallow Two-Story Underground RC Box Structure

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2017
Tunnels, culverts, and subway stations are the main parts of an integrated infrastructure system. Most of them are constructed by the cut-and-cover method at shallow depths (mainly lower than 30 m) of soil deposits, where large-scale seismic ground ...

Fragility Curves of Restoration Processes for Resilience Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In literature the fragility curves are usually adopted to evaluate the probability of exceedance of a given damage state. This chapter presents for the first time a procedure for developing fragility curves of restoration processes which can be adopted for resilience analysis.
