The Use of FN‐Silk Networks as Extracellular Matrix‐Mimicking Support for 3D In Vitro Breast Cancer Models Improved the Model's Reproducibility in Drug Sensitivity

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 5, Issue 2, June 2026.
Chemotherapy treatment experiments were conducted on three breast cancer cell lines cultured in 2D, spheroids, and the novel 3D support: FN‐silk networks. The breast cancer cells cultured in FN‐silk networks were generally less sensitive to the drugs tested, compared to 2D cultures, potentially giving higher clinical relevance.

On Possibilities and Challenges of GPT‐Assisted Learning Environments

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 26, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Contemporary education demands a student‐centered and competence‐oriented approach. Learners must tackle and solve problems independently and in line with constructivist learning theories. Accordingly, instructional roles must evolve from mere knowledge transmission to facilitating students' autonomous achievement of learning objectives—a ...

Unstable Weak Imbibition in Fractured Porous Media: Microfluidic and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 62, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Weak imbibition in permeable media is crucial for CO2 geological sequestration, oil and gas extraction, and groundwater contamination and remediation. Previous studies predicted that weak imbibition under favorable viscosity ratios produces stable displacement, but this assumption may fail in fractured porous media.

Silicon allotropes by large‐volume high‐pressure techniques: crystal growth mechanisms, phase diagrams and hexagonal nanostructured Si‐6H by in situ X‐ray diffraction and computational methods

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section B, Volume 82, Issue 3, Page 280-298, June 2026.
In situ X‐ray diffraction is used for exploring Si crystallography and for studying phase‐transformation mechanisms in elemental Si and Na–Si systems. We present original results of hexagonal silicon, Si‐6H and a critical analysis of the past‐decade discoveries of silicon Si‐4H and Si24 using large‐volume high‐pressure techniques.Metastable allotropes ...

From Hair to Healing: Follicular Unit Transplantation for Chronic Ulcer Management—A Case Series

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Scalp follicular unit (FU) transplantation is a highly effective yet underutilised minimally invasive technique for promoting healing in chronic and recalcitrant cutaneous wounds. In this case series, five patients with long‐standing nonhealing leg ulcers of mixed etiologies were treated exclusively with single FU grafts harvested from the ...
