Free and Forced Vibrations of Fuzzy Structures
2016Stochastic free and forced vibrations of layered beams are analyzed that result from a single bounded random stiffness parameter whose probability density function is considered to be zero outside of a given interval, i.e., it is a member of a fuzzy set with bounded uncertainty.

The model is used to study the free and forced vibration of such a beam.

1988The free and forced vibrations of turbine blades are considered. First, various models for the description and the calculation of their dynamical behaviour are presented and methods of solution are discussed. Second, results and parametric studies are considered which show the influence of the most important blade parameters on the vibrations.

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2014An analytical model of axisymmetric vibrations of hollow elastic circular cylinders with arbitrary boundary conditions is presented. Free vibrations of cylinders with free or fixed boundaries and forced vibrations of cylinders with specified non-uniform displacement or stress on the boundaries are considered.

Journal of Vibration and Acoustics, 1992Longitudinal vibrations of a cantilevered bar with a transverse crack are investigated. For undamped, unforced vibrations, frequency spectra are computed and the effects of the crack location and compliance on the fundamental natural frequency are determined.

Nonlinear forced and free vibrations in acoustic waveguides
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1974Nonlinear acoustic theory is used to show that the cutoff frequencies and the resonant frequencies of modes in acoustic waveguides of finite length depend upon the mode amplitude. The amplitude εn, of mode n > 0, produced by a periodic piston motion of amplitude δn, is also determined.

The analysis of free and forced vibration phenomena pertinent to the behaviour of structural frameworks requires the investigation of mathematical models which adequately represent input loads, structural stiffness, and output response.
