A multi-perspective analysis of microclimate dynamics for air-based solar hydrogen production
Navigating the microclimatic environment for the optimal control of water-from-air devices could be a challenge. An example of such a device is an air-based solar hydrogen production device.

A Study on the Movement Characteristics of Fuel in the Fuel Tank during the Maneuvering Process
To investigate the movement characteristics of fuel within an aircraft’s fuel tank during maneuvering, this study employs numerical simulations using the Finite Pointset Method (FPM) with specific boundary conditions and excitation.

Numerical simulation of flows around a finite-length cylinder with free surface
ObjectivesIn order to explore the influence of the free surface and free end on the flow field around typical bluff bodies, the flow field around a finite-length cylinder with a free surface is studied. MethodsBased on the delay detached-eddy simulation (

Turbulence of a Free Surface [PDF]
We study the free surface of a turbulent channel flow, in particular, the relation between the statistical properties of the wrinkled surface and those of the velocity field beneath it. For an irregular flow shed off a vertical cylinder, surface indentations are strongly correlated with vortices in the subsurface flow.

Turbulence in a free surface [PDF]
We report an experimental and numerical study of turbulent fluid motion in a free surface. The flow is realized experimentally on the surface of a tank filled with water stirred by a vertically oscillating grid positioned well below the surface. Particles floating on the surface are used to visualize the flow.

Optimal Use of Titanium Dioxide Colourant to Enable Water Surfaces to Be Measured by Kinect Sensors
Recent studies have sought to use Microsoft Kinect sensors to measure water surface shape in steady flows or transient flow processes. They have typically employed a white colourant, usually titanium dioxide (TiO2), in order to make the surface opaque ...

Comparing the force due to the Lennard-Jones potential and the Coulomb force in the SPH Method
Seventy years after the Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method was created, there was the need to use the solid limit to keep the domain particles of a certain region.

The geometry of surface-by-free groups [PDF]
We show that every word hyperbolic, surface-by-(noncyclic) free group Gamma is as rigid as possible: the quasi-isometry group of Gamma equals the abstract commensurator group Comm(Gamma), which in turn contains Gamma as a finite index subgroup. As a corollary, two such groups are quasi-isometric if and only if they are commensurable, and any finitely ...

Scale dependency in modeling nivo-glacial hydrological systems: the case of the Arolla basin, Switzerland [PDF]
Hydrological modeling in alpine catchments poses unique challenges due to the complex interplay of meteorological, topographical, geological, and glaciological drivers with streamflow generation.
