Confrontation Between Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics and Unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes Methods for a Sinking Rigid Body [PDF]
In this article, we present detailed numerical results concerning the hydrodynamic behavior of two distinct rigid bodies; a cylinder and a wedge; interacting with a free water surface.

The effects of barriers on supershear rupture
A barrier may induce a supershear rupture transition in some cases, whereas it may prevent the further propagation of a supershear rupture in other cases.

Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis of Cavitating Hydrofoils Near the Sea Surface in Supercritical Open Channel Flows [PDF]
As a high-speed submerged body travels beneath the water surface, it induces deformation of the free surface and may generate cavitation due to local pressure reductions.

This thesis investigates several free-surface phenomena to illustrate the role of viscous stresses. In part I (chapters 1-4), we study the impact of spherical liquid drops on non-wetting substrates. After impact on a rigid substrate, a falling liquid drop deforms and spreads, owing to the normal reaction force.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

1D-3D coupling method for transient flow simulations in open channel and its applications
Based on water stage prediction-correction method, an 1D-3D coupled method is proposed to accurately simulate the surge wave caused by the transient process of hydropower stations in open channel, overcoming the inability of low-dimensional models to ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
