Serum Free Thyroxine and Thyroxine Binding Proteins in Male Adolescents
The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 1966Free thyroxine levels and thyroxine binding proteins have been studied in male adolescents and compared to the values observed in other groups of subjects. Free T4 concentration is decreased in adolescents as compared to adults, and particularly in the late stage of sexual maturation.

Serum free thyroxine concentrations, measured by the Immo Phase kit, and free thyroxine index values were compared in 200 subjects classified according to age, sex, and clinical diagnosis. The free thyroxine concentration was as good as the free thyroxine index in hyperthyroid, hypothyroid, elderly, and acutely ill patients and a better diagnostic ...

Serum triiodothyronine, total thyroxine, and free thyroxine concentrations in horses
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1993SUMMARY The objectives of this experiment were to determine serum concentrations of triiodothyronine (T3), thyroxine (T4), and free thyroxine (fT4) at rest, following thyroid-stimulating hormone (tsh) administration, and following phenylbutazone administration in healthy horses.

THE EXCHANGE OF THYROXINE BETWEEN PLASMA AND LIVER: THE ROLE OF FREE THYROXINE
Acta Endocrinologica, 1975ABSTRACT An investigation has been made into the exchange of thyroxine between human plasma and the perfused rat liver. A stop-flow method was used to hold plasma within the liver sinusoids for periods up to 20 MIN. At 20°C it was found that thyroxine present in the sinusoids transferred to the liver at a rate of 5–6%/min; and that thyroxine ...
