Theoretical analysis and second-order approximation of solution of fractal-fractional differential equations with Mittag-Leffler Kernel

open access: yesMathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems
Some new uniqueness theorems are proposed and a flexible, efficient numerical algorithm is formulated and analysed for convergence and numerically verified for nonlinear fractal-fractional differential equations with Mittag-Leffler kernel.

Free Water in White Matter Differentiates MCI and AD From Control Subjects

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging Neuroscience, 2019
Recent evidence shows that neuroinflammation plays a role in many neurological diseases including mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer's disease (AD), and that free water (FW) modeling from clinically acquired diffusion MRI (DTI-like ...

Global Recharge Data Set Indicates Strengthened Groundwater Connection to Surface Fluxes

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
Groundwater is an invaluable global resource, but its long‐term viability as a resource for consumption, agriculture, and ecosystems depends on precipitation recharging aquifers.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Hydrological impact of rainwater harvesting in the Modder river basin of central South Africa

open access: yes, 2011
Published ArticleAlong the path of water flowing in a river basin are many water-related human interventions that modify the natural systems. Rainwater harvesting is one such intervention that involves harnessing of water in the upstream catchment ...

Water Flow Evaluation in Eucalyptus and Corymbia Short Logs

open access: yesFloresta e Ambiente, 2018
The aim of this study is to evaluate the free and adsorbed water flow in short logs of Eucalyptus urophylla and Corymbia citriodora clones. 40 cm long, short logs were extracted from the base of the trees. Three trees each of C.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Decay of Free Residual Chlorine in Wells Water of Northern Brazil

open access: yes, 2021
The concentration of chlorine in water declines as it reacts with various substances, causing decay of the residual free chlorine until its total consumption.
