Glycaemic Variability and C‐Peptide in Bangladeshi Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults With Diabetes: A Prospective Study

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 6, November 2026.
In 97 Bangladeshi children and young people with diabetes, glucose variability far exceeded international targets. Lower residual beta‐cell function, measured by fasting C‐peptide, was associated with greater variability in a graded pattern. C‐peptide may help identify those at higher risk, though larger studies are needed to confirm this.

Metabolic Changes During a Calorie‐Restricted, Fish‐Rich Ketogenic Diet Associated With Increased Circulating TMAO in Healthy Adults

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 9, Issue 6, November 2026.
A 2‐week calorie‐restricted, fish‐rich ketogenic diet increased circulating TMAO while improving selected glycemic and insulin‐related biomarkers in healthy adults. HDL cholesterol decreased, whereas oxidative stress markers remained unchanged, highlighting a complex short‐term metabolic response that should not be interpreted as evidence of causality.

Community‐Based Personalised Lifestyle Intervention Guided by Intermittent Continuous Glucose Monitoring in Adults With Type 2 Diabetes: A Multicentre Randomised Controlled Trial

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 11, Page 10070-10080, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims To evaluate whether a community‐based personalised lifestyle intervention guided by intermittent continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) improves glycaemic and cardiometabolic outcomes in adults with type 2 diabetes. Materials and Methods In this multicentre, open‐label randomised trial, 180 adults with type 2 diabetes and pre‐randomisation ...

Vegetable‐First Meal Sequence Suppresses Postprandial Glycaemic Excursions and Variability in Young Women With High‐Risk Phenotype for Early‐Onset Type 2 Diabetes: A 4‐Arm Randomized Crossover Trial With Continuous Glucose Monitoring

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 11, Page 10218-10226, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Managing postprandial glycaemic variability is crucial for preventing metabolic diseases. Although the effects of a vegetable‐first meal sequence on blood glucose levels have been well documented, there is limited research on consecutive, repeated meal sequencing for healthy young women.
