Freeze–thaw actuator and applications
Significant portions of the earth’s land mass undergo annual freeze–thaw cycles, and although water is abundant and practically a free resource, the possibility of using the water–ice phase transition for smart material applications and actuators for ...

In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Freeze-thaw stability of oilseed rape oleosome emulsions [PDF]
This work investigated the stability of natural oleosome emulsions on freeze-thawing. Oleosomes were recovered from oilseed rape seeds following an aqueous extraction process using sodium bicarbonate (0.1 M).

Effect of freeze-thaw cycles on shear strength of unsaturated bentonite modified clay [PDF]
Freeze–thaw cycles is a seasonal process which occurs in many north regions of soils. Understanding the effects of freeze–thaw cycle on the physico-mechanical behaviours of soils is critical for construction stabilisation and reduce the freeze-thaw ...

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Investigations of Dynamic Mechanical Performance of Rubber Concrete under Freeze-Thaw Cycle Damage
In order to study the effect of the freeze-thaw cycle on the integrity and dynamic mechanical performance of rubber concrete, the wave speed of rubber concrete specimens with 10% rubber volume was measured by a nonmetallic ultrasonic detector. The impact

Study on dynamic splitting and evolution mechanism of sandstone under freeze-thaw cycle
This study attempts to investigate the dynamic tensile mechanical properties of sandstone under freeze-thaw cycle by using the split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB)test system to perform dynamic splitting tests on sandstone samples with freeze-thaw cycle 0,
