Variscan subduction of an Ordovician granite : the Lévézou massif, French Massif Central

open access: yesInternational Journal of Earth Sciences, 2015
The Variscan Belt is usually interpreted as the result of an oceanic subduction followed by continental collision. The subducted ocean is represented by eclogitic lenses enclosed in amphibolite-facies rocks. This rock assemblage, called the Leptyno-Amphibolic Group (LAG), is considered as a suture unit that separates two different continental fragments

The Merinchal antimoniferous district (French Massif Central)

open access: yesPeriodico di Mineralogia, 2013
This article presents the Merinchal antimoniferous district (French Massif Central) from the historical and metallogenic points of view. This small district has been mined in the early 20th century. Subsequent characterization of mineralized indexes occurred afterwards in the 1960's and 1980's.

The Moldanubian Zone in the French Massif Central, Vosges/Schwarzwald and Bohemian Massif revisited: differences and similarities

open access: yesGeological Society, London, Special Publications, 2014
Abstract In order to portray the main differences and similarities between the Northeastern Variscan segments (French Massif Central (FMC), Vosges, Black Forest and Bohemian Massif (BM)), we review their crustal-scale architectures, the specific rock associations and lithotectonic sequences, as well as the ages of the main magmatic and ...

Premières traces des solutréens dans le massif central Français / First Solutrean Evidence in the French Massif Central

open access: yes, 2013

Discovery of metamorphic microdiamonds from the parautochthonous units of the Variscan French Massif Central

open access: yesGondwana Research, 2015
International audienceThe Variscan French Massif Central (FMC) is classically described as a stack of nappes with increasing metamorphism from the bottom (parautochthonous unit) to the top (lower and upper gneiss units).

The northwest-directed “Bretonian phase” in the French Variscan Belt (Massif Central and Massif Armoricain): A consequence of the Early Carboniferous Gondwana–Laurussia collision

open access: yesComptes Rendus - Geoscience, 2017
International audienceIn the Variscan French Massif Central and Armorican Massif, the tectonic significance of a widespread NW–SE-trending stretching lineation, coeval with medium pressure–medium temperature metamorphism, is an open question.

Forest restoration in the French Massif Central Mountains

2004
