Hercynian high-altitude phenomena in the French Massif Central: tectonic implications

Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology, 1996
Abstract Stratified slope deposits, diamictite and sedimentary structures such as water-escape craters, ghosts of ice crystals and solifluction flowage in the Stephanian-Autunian of the French Massif Central are related to high-altitude periglacial effects. The clay mineral assemblage, dominated by the association illite-chlorite-irregular interlayed

Les marbres de la Série du Chavanon (Massif central, France) / Marbles from the Chavanon sequence (French Massif central)

Revue des sciences naturelles d'Auvergne, 2014
The Chavanon metamorphic sequence, located in the center of the French Massif Central, mainly constituted of gneisses and micaschists, contains some marbles lenses which have been exploited since the first half of the 19th century, maybe even earlier. Those rocks, mainly constituted of calcite, occur as hectometric lenses within gneisses.

Geochemistry of leptyno-amphibolite complex from Haut Allier (French Massif Central)

Lithos, 1984
Abstract Mafic metaigneous rocks of the leptyno-amphibolite group of the French Massif Central in the Haut Allier region include amphibolites, granulites and other high-grade metamorphic rocks such as eclogites. Many granulites and eclogites were retromorphosed into amphibolite facies. Most rocks have basaltic compositions.

Premières traces des solutréens dans le massif central Français / First Solutrean Evidence in the French Massif Central

2013

Development of Scotch broom in the French Massif Central pastures

2004
Scotch broom (Cytisus scoparius L.) is a commonly colonizing species in the insufficiently grazed pastures of the French Massif Central. By decreasing pasture value and altering initial flora composition broom is considered as an important weed. Our study aims at characterizing broom recruitment in grazed pastures and its development after grazing ...
