Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

System-level modeling with temperature compensation for a CMOS-MEMS monolithic calorimetric flow sensing SoC

open access: yesMicrosystems & Nanoengineering
We present a system-level model with an on-chip temperature compensation technique for a CMOS-MEMS monolithic calorimetric flow sensing SoC. The model encompasses mechanical, thermal, and electrical domains to facilitate the co-design of a MEMS sensor ...

GaAs PHEMT PERFORMANCE INCREASE USING DELTA-DOPING IN THE FORM OF NANOWIRES OF TIN ATOMS

open access: yesРоссийский технологический журнал, 2017
The PHEMT epitaxial structures with a doping profile in the form of tin nanowires were fabricated using vicinal GaAs substrate disoriented by 0.3° in relation to accurate orientation (100). Investigation of electron transport properties of the structures

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

VLBI Frequency Transfer using CONT11

open access: yes, 2012
Geodetic VLBI is an independent technique, which does not rely on third parties. This makes it a viable future alternative for time- and frequency transfer over long baselines.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A Dual-Band Dual-Polarized Antenna for Harvesting in Cellular and Digital Terrestrial Television Bands

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Antennas and Propagation
The growing prevalence of IoT devices has heightened the focus on minimizing energy consumption in low-power electronic systems. Ambient radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting allows self-sustaining electronic devices to operate in IoT networks without ...

Dissociating word frequency and age of acquisition: The Klein effect revived (and reversed). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The Klein effect (G. S. Klein, 1964) refers to the finding that high-frequency words produce greater interference in a color-naming task than low-frequency words.
