Optical frequency comb spectroscopy
Faraday Discussions, 2011Optical frequency combs offer enormous potential in the detection and control of atoms and molecules by combining their vast spectral coverage with the extremely high spectral resolution of each individual comb component. Sensitive and multiplexed trace gas detection via cavity-enhanced direct frequency comb spectroscopy has been demonstrated for ...

Integrated optical frequency combs
2017 19th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2017Optical frequency combs (OFCs) are a revolutionary light source for numerous applications due to their precisely spaced coherent optical wavelengths. his paper will focus on OFCs for employment in next generation dense/ultra-dense wavelength division multiplexed high-speed optical communication systems, which places stringent requirements on the OFC ...

Multimode squeezing of frequency combs
Physical Review A, 2006We have developed a full multimode theory of a synchronously pumped type-I optical parametric oscillator. We calculate the output quantum fluctuations of the device and find that, in the degenerate case (coincident signal and idler set of frequencies), significant squeezing is obtained when one approaches threshold from below for a set of well-defined `

A frequency comb in the extreme ultraviolet
Digest of the LEOS Summer Topical Meetings, 2005., 2005Since 1998, the interaction of precision spectroscopy and ultrafast laser science has led to several notable accomplishments. Femtosecond laser optical frequency 'combs' (evenly spaced spectral lines) have revolutionized the measurement of optical frequencies and enabled optical atomic clocks.

Characterization of an optical frequency comb using modified direct frequency comb spectroscopy
Applied Physics B, 2009We introduce a method for determination of the absolute frequencies of comb lines within the optical frequency comb spectrum. The method utilizes the experimental and theoretical approach of the velocity selective optical pumping of the atomic ground state hyperfne levels induced by resonant pulse train excitation.

Mapping of the Optical Frequency Comb to the Atom Velocity Comb
15th International Conference on Ultrafast Phenomena, 2006We present the experimental and theoretical study of the resonant excitation of rubidium atoms with fs pulse train in the conditions when the pulse repetition period is shorter than the atomic relaxation time. The velocity selective optical pumping of the ground state hyperfine levels and velocity comb-like excited state hyperfine level populations are

Frequency comb metrology at PHz frequencies: Precision in the extreme ultraviolet
2011 XXXth URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium, 2011The capability of frequency-comb (FC) lasers to precisely measure optical frequencies is extended to the multiple-PHz domain. This frequency region, which covers the extreme ultraviolet (XUV, wavelengths shorter than 100 nm), was previously not accessible to these devices. Frequency comb generation is shown for 51-85 nm by amplification and coherent up-

Optica Sensing Congress 2023 (AIS, FTS, HISE, Sensors, ES), 2023
The structure of frequency combs, evenly-space light sources, allows for novel strategies in the measurement of optical signals. We discuss ptychoscopy, a method that blends the resolution of heterodyne spectroscopy with the bandwidth of combs.

Frequency Comb Spectroscopy with Coherent Frequency Combs Generated by Diode Lasers
Frontiers in Optics / Laser Science, 2020We demonstrate frequency combs generated with electrically pumped, commercially grown, quantum well laser diodes. We characterize their coherent output, and demonstrate dual comb absorption spectroscopy conducted with two free-running combs.
