Association Between Motor Pathway Damage and Motor Deficit in Upper and Lower Limb in People With MS
ABSTRACT Objective Corticospinal tract damage is common in people with MS, but the degree of clinical symptoms varies. We hypothesize that corticospinal tract lesions are more extensive and severe in people with MS with motor impairments in both upper and lower limbs.

Laser Frequency Combs for Astronomical Observations [PDF]
A direct measurement of the universe's expansion history could be made by observing in real time the evolution of the cosmological redshift of distant objects. However, this would require measurements of Doppler velocity drifts of ∼1 centimeter per second per year, and astronomical spectrographs have not yet been calibrated to this tolerance.

The polymer wall stabilized dye‐doped liquid crystals (PWLCs) enhance the sensitivity of photoinduced molecular reorientation in dye‐doped LC systems. The PWLC with an invisible polymer wall successfully reduces the threshold intensity and functions as an optical limiter under the incidence of low intensity light laser source.

Controllable Kerr and Raman-Kerr frequency combs in functionalized microsphere resonators
Optical frequency comb (OFC) based on the whispering-gallery-mode microresonator has various potential applications in fundamental and applied areas. Once the solid microresonator is fabricated, its structure parameters are generally unchanged. Therefore,

Stabilized
We have designed and fabricated a Kerr frequency comb oscillator with 27.5 GHz repetition rate by pumping a whispering gallery mode crystalline resonator with a laser at 1560 nm center wavelength. The oscillator is stabilized to the Rb$^{87}

Resonant electro-optic frequency comb [PDF]
High speed optical telecommunication is enabled by wavelength division multiplexing, whereby hundreds of individually stabilized lasers encode the information within a single mode optical fiber. In the seek for larger bandwidth the optical power sent into the fiber is limited by optical non-linearities within the fiber and energy consumption of the ...

A monolithic MQW InP-InGaAsP-Based optical comb generator
We report the first demonstration of a monolithic optical-frequency comb generator. The device is based on multi-section quaternary/quaternary eight-quantum-well InP-InGaAsP material in a frequency-modulated (FM) laser design. The modulation is generated
