The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Coupling between flexible ship and liquid sloshing using potential flow analysis

open access: yes, 2010
The significant increase in demand for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and the economic aspects of its transportation resulted in increases in the number and size of LNG carriers.

Mechanism of Suppressing DFIG Shafting–Grid-Connected Oscillations Through Coordinated Optimization of Dual Damping Terms Under Frequency Coupling

open access: yesEnergies
Sub-synchronous oscillations (SSOs) induced by the interaction between doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) and weak grids pose a critical threat to the grid-connected stability of DFIG-based wind power systems.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Admittance-Reshaping Method for LCL-Type Grid-Connected Converters Under Weak-Grid Conditions and Background Harmonic Disturbances

open access: yesEnergies
Large-scale integration of renewable energy sources and power-electronic equipment introduces substantial background harmonics into the grid and, at the same time, gives rise to weak-grid operating conditions with a low short-circuit ratio, thereby ...

Analysis of frequency characteristics of three-coil magnetic coupling resonant wireless power transmission system

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2018
An equivalent circuit model of three-coil magnetic coupling resonant wireless power transmission system was built, and formulas of system transmission power and transmission efficiency were deduced.

Evaluation of torque-dependent coupling characteristics and their influence on the system vibration characteristics

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems, and Manufacturing, 2021
Coupling characteristics that depend on the applied torque and the influence of this torque dependency on the system response are investigated in this study.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The Complex Way to Laser Diode Spectra: Example of an External Cavity Laser With Strong Optical Feedback [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
An external cavity laser with strong grating-filtered feedback to an antireflection-coated facet is studied with a time-domain integral equation for the electric field, which reproduces the modes of the oscillation condition as steady-state solutions ...
