Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Analysis of transverse beam stabilization with radio frequency quadrupoles

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2017
A radio frequency (rf) quadrupole has been considered as a potential alternative device for Landau damping in circular hadron colliders. The objective of this study is to benchmark and confirm its stabilizing effect predicted by stability diagram theory ...

Advanced aeroservoelastic stabilization techniques for hypersonic flight vehicles [PDF]

open access: yes
Advanced high performance vehicles, including Single-Stage-To-Orbit (SSTO) hypersonic flight vehicles, that are statically unstable, require higher bandwidth flight control systems to compensate for the instability resulting in interactions between the ...

Spectrally narrow, long-term stable optical frequency reference based on a Eu$^{3+}$:Y$_{2}$SiO$_{5}$ crystal at cryogenic temperature

open access: yes, 2011
Using an ultrastable continuous-wave laser at 580 nm we performed spectral hole burning of Eu$^{3+}$:Y$_{2}$SiO$_{5}$ at very high spectral resolution.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

QUANTUM ZENO EFFECT, KAPITSA PENDULUM AND WHIRLIGIG PRINCIPLE. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2016
Comparative analysis of three stabilization mechanisms of unstable states of physical systems is presented in this review. These mechanisms are: the quantum Zeno effect, the stabilization of unstable states in an external fast oscillating field (at the ...

Amplitude dependent frequency, desynchronization, and stabilization in noisy metapopulation dynamics

open access: yes, 2006
The enigmatic stability of population oscillations within ecological systems is analyzed. The underlying mechanism is presented in the framework of two interacting species free to migrate between two spatial patches.
