The backscatter-induced lock-in effect constitutes a primary error source in laser gyroscopes, with the lock-in threshold critically dependent on the magnitude of the backscatter angle. Conventional dual-mirror synchronous frequency stabilization suffers

Frequency stabilization by synchronization of Duffing oscillators [PDF]
We present analytical and numerical results on the joint dynamics of two coupled Duffing oscillators with nonlinearity of opposite signs (hardening and softening).

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

On the Impact of Amplitude Variation on Interpolated DFT Method and How to Reduce It
The Interpolated DFT is often used to improve frequency estimation of the spectral lines of DFT’s spectrum. If the measured spectral line is distorted the accuracy of Interpolated DFT is decreased. Such distortion could be a result of amplitude variation

Frequency Stabilization of Frequency-doubled Nd:YAG Lasers at 532 nm
Frequency-doubled Nd : YAG lasers have been frequency stabilized against the hyperfine structure components of 127I2 by means of the sub-Doppler frequency modulation technique.

Robust stabilization by linear output delay feedback [PDF]
The main result establishes that if a controller $C$ (comprising of a linear feedback of the output and its derivatives) globally stabilizes a (nonlinear) plant $P$, then global stabilization of $P$ can also be achieved by an output feedback controller ...

Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

FPGA based laser frequency stabilization using FM spectroscopy
Frequency stabilized light sources with narrow linewidth are mandatory for atom interferometry based experiments. For compact experiment designs used on space platforms, tunable DFB diode lasers are often used. These lasers combine low energy consumption

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Ultra-sensitive heterodyne detection at room temperature in the atmospheric windows
We report room temperature heterodyne detection of a quantum cascade laser beaten with a local oscillator on a unipolar quantum photodetector in two different atmospheric windows, at 4.8 µm and 9 µm.
