Antenna-in-Package Design and Robust Test for the Link Between Wireless Ingestible Capsule and Smart Phone

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
An antenna-in-package is proposed for a wireless ingestible capsule operated at ISM (2.4-2.48 GHz) band and also experimentally tested in a system level.

Size tuning in the absence of spatial frequency tuning in object recognition

open access: yesVision Research, 2001
How do we attend to objects at a variety of sizes as we view our visual world? Because of an advantage in identification of lowpass over highpass filtered patterns, as well as large over small images, a number of theorists have assumed that size-independent recognition is achieved by spatial frequency (SF) based coarse-to-fine tuning. We found that the

Applicability of mitotic figure counting by deep learning: a development and pan‐cancer validation study

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed a deep learning method for mitotic figure counting in H&E‐stained whole‐slide images and evaluated its prognostic impact in 13 external validation cohorts from seven different cancer types. Patients with more mitotic figures per mm2 had significantly worse patient outcome in all the studied cancer types except colorectal ...

Methods of frequency tuning vibration based micro-generator

open access: yes, 2009
A vibration based micro-generator is an energy harvesting device that couples a certain transduction mechanism to the ambient vibration and converts mechanical energy to electrical energy.

Inhibition shapes selectivity to vocalizations in the inferior colliculus of awake mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Neural Circuits, 2012
The inferior colliculus (IC) is a major center for integration of auditory information as itreceives ascending projections from a variety of brainstem nuclei as well as descending projectionsfrom the thalamus and auditory cortex.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

A fundamental limit on the performance of geometrically-tuned planar resonators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Geometric frequency tuning in planar electromagnetic resonators is common in many applications. It comes, however, at a penalty in the resonance quality, Q0. The literature traces the causes of such penalty often in terms of the shortcomings in the added

Long Range Frequency Tuning for QML

open access: yesCoRR
Quantum machine learning models using angle encoding naturally represent truncated Fourier series, providing universal function approximation capabilities with sufficient circuit depth. For unary fixed-frequency encodings, circuit depth scales as O(omega_max * (omega_max + epsilon^{-2})) with target frequency magnitude omega_max and precision epsilon ...

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Frequency domain iterative feedforward/feedback tuning for MIMO ANVC

open access: yes, 2007
A new iterative feedback/feed-forward tuning (IFFT) method is presented for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) control systems that relies on efficient computation of the negative gradient of the controller cost function in the frequency domain.
