A Study on the Influence of Dominant Parameters Related to Brake Squeal in the Brake System with the Flexible Pad [PDF]

open access: yes한국정밀공학회지, 2022
The brake squeal noise is a high-frequency noise over 1 kHz range generated by the contact between the brake pad and the disk. The purpose of this paper was to investigate the behavior of the squeal noise characteristics of the brake system from an ...

Boundary Element Method for Tangential Contact of a Coated Elastic Half-Space

open access: yesMachines, 2023
We present a formulation of the boundary element method (BEM) for simulating the tangential contact with an elastic half-space coated with an elastic layer with different elastic properties.

Friction and Friction Heat of Micronscale Iron [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Tribology, 2020
Abstract This paper investigates the friction and friction heat of the micronscale iron under the influences such as the velocity of the slider and temperature of the substrate by using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations.

Effect of thermal exposure on microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir welding 7B50-T7451 aluminium alloy thick plate joint

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
In the present work, thermal exposure was performed on the 7B50-T7451 aluminium alloy friction stir welding (FSW) joints at different temperatures (150 °C, 175 °C and 220 °C) for 200 h.

Friction and friction compensation in the Furuta pendulum [PDF]

open access: yes1999 European Control Conference (ECC), 1999
Inverted pendulums are very well suited to investigate friction phenomena and friction compensation because the effects of friction are so clearly noticeable. This paper analyses the effect of fiction on the Furuta pendulum. It is shown that friction in the arm drive may cause limit cycles. The limit cycles are well predicted by common friction models.

Design and preparation of high-content Sc2W3O12 dispersed interlayer: alleviating the high residual stress of Cf/SiC and GH3536 joint

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
Negative thermal expansion (NTE) materials were utilized to alleviate the high residual stress of brazed joints by regulating the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of metal composite filler.

Indentation and Detachment in Adhesive Contacts between Soft Elastomer and Rigid Indenter at Simultaneous Motion in Normal and Tangential Direction: Experiments and Simulations

open access: yesBiomimetics, 2023
In reported experiments, a steel indenter was pressed into a soft elastomer layer under varying inclination angles and subsequently was detached under various inclination angles too.

High-Precision Tribometer for Studies of Adhesive Contacts

open access: yesSensors, 2023
Herein, we describe the design of a laboratory setup operating as a high-precision tribometer. The whole design procedure is presented, starting with a concept, followed by the creation of an exact 3D model and final assembly of all functional parts. The

Frictional and Non‐Frictional Unemployment in a Labor Market with Matching Frictions [PDF]

open access: yesThe Manchester School, 2016
Using the Mortensen and Pissarides model of a labor market with frictions, this paper proposes a new method, simpler than the one presented in Michaillat (), for decomposing unemployment into frictional and non‐frictional (rationing) unemployment for a derived rigid wage‐setting rule.
