Surprising Water Slipping Performance on Highly Hydrophilic PEG‐Derived Monolayer‐Covered Surfaces: Preparation, Mechanism, and Application

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Highly hydrophilic surfaces (water contact angle, ≈17.7°) exhibiting surprising water slipping performance (sliding angle, ≈7.3°) are successfully prepared via simple chemisorption of polyethylene glycol (PEG) organosilane and subsequent alkali‐treatment.

Research progress on external friction coefficient test of powders

open access: yesFenmo yejin jishu
The external friction behavior between the interface and powders is affected by the properties of the powders, the surface roughness of dies, the relative motion speed, temperature, and pressure. Unreasonable external friction behavior may cause the wear

A multiscale tribological study of nacre : Evidence of wear nanomechanisms controlled by the frictional dissipated power [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Sheet nacre is a hybrid biocomposite with a multiscale structure, including nanograins of CaCO3 (97% wt.% – 40 nm in size) and two organic matrices: (i) the “interlamellar” mainly composed of β-chitin and proteins, and (ii) the “intracrystalline” mainly ...
