Study on the Friction Torque Calculation and Experimentation of Cycloid Ball Planetary Transmission

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2017
Based on the kinematics of cycloid steel ball planetary transmission, the contact state between the meshing pair and the speed reducer is determined.

The Influence of Mass and Friction in Teleoperated Tasks

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Haptics
Model Mediated Teleoperation (MMT) is a method of teleoperation by which a model of the environment is displayed to the operator for delay-free feedback. The choice of the model is important to the performance of the system. A more descriptive model will give the operator more accurate feedback, but this can cause problems for the estimator and the ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

A Numerical Investigation on Scaling Rolling Friction Effects in Shaking Table Model Tests

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2019
Friction action is a damping mechanism used in civil structures. It often works together with traditional viscous damping. The rolling friction action is nonlinear, and its scaling process in shaking table model tests is suspect, especially in cases of ...

Refinement of amino‐acid conformation vs. difference density maps in time‐resolved serial femtosecond crystallography data analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The dFoCC pipeline starts with observed DED and resting‐state coordinates, which are then used to generate a library of triggered states. Correlation analysis of the calculated DED features of each candidate vs observed DED permits quantitative evaluation of candidate structural quality.

Influence of Heterogeneous Contact Stiffness and Heterogeneous Friction Coefficient on Frictional Squeal

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2018
Contact stiffness and friction coefficient are excitation sources and key influencing factors to frictional squeal with obvious inhomogeneous characteristic that is always neglected.

Studies on the influence of colosniks on friction

open access: yes, 2023
Cotton fiber is the main product of cotton ginning enterprises, and its quality mainlydepends on the condition of production machines and production technology. Failure tomeet the requirements set for production machines leads to damage and breakage of fiber, reduction of fiber, mechanical damage, as well as decrease in strength, increase of ...

The crystal structure of the Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase BBE22 resolves a long‐standing annotation error

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

Experimental Study of Effects of the Third Medium on the Maximum Friction Coefficient between Wheel and Rail for High-Speed Trains

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2021
The changes of the friction coefficient between wheel and rail affect the wheel-rail adhesion characteristics of high-speed trains. The adhesion state in the wheel-rail contact area could be distinguished by the maximum friction coefficient between wheel

Structural studies and functional engineering of NanX: an anhydro‐sialic acid transporter from Escherichia coli

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Biophysical characterisation shows that NanX, a membrane transport protein from the major facilitator superfamily (MFS), forms both monomers and dimers after purification. AlphaFold modelling and substrate docking provide information on residues likely involved in substrate recognition for NanX and another MFS member, NanT.
