Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

A Review of Friction and Lubricant in Metal Forming
Friction conditions, along with the flow behaviors of materials, significantly impact plastic deformation during metal forming. Extensive practical research on friction has thus been conducted, and industrial development has been remarkable.

Study on Friction Characteristics of AA7075 Aluminum Alloy under Pulse Current-Assisted Hot Stamping
Friction during contact between metals can be very complex in pulse current-assisted forming. Based on stamping process characteristics, a reciprocating friction tester was designed to study the friction characteristics between AA7075 aluminum alloy and ...

Experimental analysis and modeling of orthogonal cutting using material and friction models [PDF]
In this study, a process model for orthogonal cutting processes is proposed. The model involves the primary and secondary deformation zones. The primary shear zone is modeled by a Johnson-Cook constitutive relationship and a shear plane having constant ...

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

Subloading-overstress friction model
The subloading-friction model proposed formerly is capable of describing the transition from the static to the kinetic friction and the recovery of static friction, which leads to the negative rate-sensitivity, i.e.

Static and Dry Friction due to Multiscale Surface Roughness
It is shown on the basis of scaling arguments that a disordered interface between two elastic solids will quite generally exhibit static and "dry friction" (i.e., kinetic friction which does not vanish as the sliding velocity approaches zero), because of

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
