Analysis on Wear Law of Friction Pair of Oil-well Pump Barrel-plunger Based on ANSYS

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2022
In view of the lack of optimization analysis on the friction pair of oil well pump under simulated working conditions, the wear state of liner jacket-plunger friction pair was mainly studied under simulated working conditions, and a liner jacket-plunger ...

Tribological Behavior and Wear Mechanism of Ni-Nano TiO2 Composite Sintered Material at Room Temperature and 600 °C

open access: yesLubricants, 2022
In the present work, Ni-10 wt.%TiO2 self-lubricating composite sinters were prepared via a powder metallurgy. Commercially available powder of nickel and non-commercial nanometric titanium dioxide (approx. 30 nm size) produced by the microwave method was

Role of thermal friction in relaxation of turbulent Bose-Einstein condensates

open access: yes, 2016
In recent experiments, the relaxation dynamics of highly oblate, turbulent Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) was investigated by measuring the vortex decay rates in various sample conditions [Phys. Rev.

Static and dynamic friction in sliding colloidal monolayers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In a pioneer experiment, Bohlein et al. realized the controlled sliding of two-dimensional colloidal crystals over laser-generated periodic or quasi-periodic potentials.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Non-Adiabatic Vibrational Damping of Molecular Adsorbates: Insights into Electronic Friction and the Role of Electronic Coherence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a perturbation approach rooted in time-dependent density-functional theory to calculate electron hole (eh)-pair excitation spectra during the non-adiabatic vibrational damping of adsorbates on metal surfaces.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Hydrodynamic interactions of spherical particles in suspensions confined between two planar walls

open access: yes, 2005
Hydrodynamic interactions in a suspension of spherical particles confined between two parallel planar walls are studied under creeping-flow conditions.

Ab initio tensorial electronic friction for molecules on metal surfaces : nonadiabatic vibrational relaxation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Molecular adsorbates on metal surfaces exchange energy with substrate phonons and low-lying electron-hole pair excitations. In the limit of weak coupling, electron-hole pair excitations can be seen as exerting frictional forces on adsorbates that enhance

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.
