Friction induced vibration

2011
Frictional vibrations have been induced in a system having an elastically suspended, and viscously damped slider loaded onto a surface driven-at constant velocity. Exact mathematical analysis-of the system reveals a unique value of the driven surface velocity, above which frictional vibrations of the slider cannot exist.

Dynamic Friction Laws and Their Impact on Friction Induced Vibrations

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2010
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph"> There are a few principal excitation mechanisms that brake system NVH simulations are based on, especially the high frequency squeal simulations. These mechanisms can be described by some simple mechanical models that exhibit excitation or self excitation effects induced by ...

Vibration damper for a friction clutch

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1982
A vibration damper is disposed between the input and output members of a friction clutch to reduce the transmission of torsional vibrations. The damper has a plurality of elastomeric bands each having one end connected to the clutch input and the other end connected to the clutch output.

Interaction and Stability of Friction and Vibrations

1992
A stability analysis of stick-slip vibrations is presented, considering single-and multi-degree-of-freedom systems to demonstrate the significance of the dimensions of a system on friction-induced vibrations. First, a stability analysis is given for a single-degree-of-freedom system, based on the linearized model, where the existence of limit cycles is
