The DNA-Methylase of Frog Virus 3
1990The DNA of frog virus 3 (FV3) replicates in two stages. During the first stage, genome sized DNA is synthesized in the nucleus of infected cells. This is followed by a second stage of DNA replication in the cytoplasm where concatemeric viral DNA is synthesized. FV3 DNA is methylated in the cytoplasm by a virus-coded DNA-methylase.

Virus-Cytoskeleton Interaction during Replication of Frog Virus 3
1990Frog virus 3 (FV3) induces selective and sequential changes in the eukaryotic cytoskeleton. Morphologically, the virus disrupts the microtubules, reorganizes the intermediate filaments, and disrupts and reorganizes the microfilaments. Biochemically, the virus selectively inhibits tubulin synthesis, increases the phosphorylation of vimentin, and ...

Leukotrienes as mediators in frog virus 3-induced hepatitis in rats
Hepatology, 1987The role of leukotrienes was investigated in frog virus 3-induced hepatitis in rats. Frog virus 3 elicited an enhanced generation of cysteinyl leukotrienes in vivo as monitored by measurement of N-acetyl-leukotriene E4 as the major endogenous metabolite of cysteinyl leukotrienes secreted into rat bile.

Frog virus 3 DNA is heavily methylated at CpG sequences
Virology, 1980Abstract DNA extracted from frog virus 3 (FV 3) virions was resistant to the action of restriction endonucleases that cannot cleave DNA methylated at the sequence me CpG. However, viral DNA was susceptible to digestion with at least one enzyme that recognizes an identical sequence, independent of methylation.

DNA-binding Proteins in Frog Virus 3-infected Cells
Journal of General Virology, 1981At least 12 virus-induced DNA-binding proteins with mol. wt. ranging from 14 X 10(3) have been isolated from frog virus (FV 3)-infected fathead minnow cells by DNA affinity chromatography. Two enzymic activities, DNA-dependent DNA polymerase and endodeoxyribonuclease, were present in the DNA-binding proteins; these enzymic activities were similar to ...
