Energy efficiency using cloud management of LTE networks employing fronthaul and virtualized baseband processing pool [PDF]
The cloud radio access network (C-RAN) emerges as one of the future solutions to handle the ever-growing data traffic, which is beyond the physical resources of current mobile networks. The C-RAN decouples the traffic management operations from the radio

Quantum teleportation in higher dimension and entanglement distribution via quantum switches
This paper presents a novel theoretical framework for transmitting classical information through entanglement distribution of qudits over two quantum channels in a superposition of causal orders. The authors introduce the first quantum switch operation for 2‐qudit systems and a theoretical model for qudit entanglement distribution via a quantum switch.

The paper proposes a containerised edge computing model for power optimisation in 6G‐inspired massive Internet‐of‐Things applications. The problem is formulated as a central processing unit energy consumption cost function based on quasi‐finite system observations. Results show that the model performs better compared to a competitive baseline algorithm.

Differential Traffic QoS Scheduling for 5G/6G Fronthaul Networks
International audienceThe need to dynamically assign capacity to various network slices in virtualized C-RAN enabled 5G and beyond packet-switched networks require the added fronthaul network to be able to deliver standard bitrates. We therefore design a

Internet access remains unavailable for approximately 2 billion people in remote areas, limiting their access to essential services such as healthcare and education. This paper presents a UAV‐based wireless network architecture combined with a microservice model to ensure the dynamic deployment of IoT applications in rural environments.

Resource Allocation in Cloud Radio Access Networks With Device-to-Device Communications
To alleviate the burdens on the fronthaul and reduce the transmit latency, the device-to-device (D2D) communication is presented in cloud radio access networks (C-RANs).
