Transfer of frozen-thawed embryos in sheep

Veterinary Record, 1987
Embryos collected from ewes six days after oestrus were frozen in straws using ethylene-glycol as a cryoprotectant. The efficiency of the simplified freezing and thawing procedure was assessed after transfer, which resulted in an overall survival rate of 58.3 per cent.

Comparison of Pregnancy and Neonatal Outcomes Between Fresh Embryo Transfer and Frozen–Thawed Embryo Transfer

Therapeutic Hypothermia and Temperature Management, 2023
This study compared the pregnancy and neonatal outcomes between fresh embryo transfer and frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET). These patients were split into two groups: the fresh embryo transfer group and the FET group. The general conditions, pregnancy outcomes, and neonatal outcomes between these groups were compared.

Cycle regimens for frozen-thawed embryo transfer

2002
Pregnancy rates following frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) treatment have always been found to be lower than following embryo transfer using fresh embryos. Nevertheless, FET increases the (cumulative) pregnancy rate, reduces cost, is relatively simple to undertake and can be accomplished in a shorter time period compared to repeated 'fresh' cycles ...

Direct transfer of frozen-thawed bovine embryos

Theriogenology, 1992
The ability to transfer frozen embryos directly to recipient females after thawing would be a convenience in embryo transfer and would facilitate marketing embryos produced in large quantities by in vitro procedures. Techniques for direct transfer of bovine embryos use sucrose as an osmotic buffer to remove glycerol while the embryo is in the straw ...
