Mealybugs are injurious to jackfruit in India, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tonga, Caroline islands, Solomon islands, etc. In India, severe infestation of the spherical mealybug was observed on shoots of jack fruit. The mealybugs suck the sap, leading to drying of shoots in severe cases; fruits were also covered with mealybugs.
