The effect of deficit irrigation on water relations, growth, and fruit quality of "Braeburn" apples (Malus domestica Borkh.) growing in lysimeters : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Applied Science at Massey University [PDF]
This project investigated the feasibility and practicality of using deficit irrigation (DI) at different times of the growing season on water relations, growth and fruit quality of 'Braeburn' apples grown in lysimeters. Five-year-old trees on MM.

Ethylene production and quality in 1-Methylcyclopropene treated 'Abbé Fètel'pears after storage in Dynamically Controlled Atmosphere [PDF]
This research studies the ethylene production rate (EP) and quality in 1-MCP treated ‘Abbé Fètel’ pears after storage in DCA compared to NA and CA. 1-MCP treated (300 ppb) and control fruit were stored at -0.5°C in NA, CA (2 kPa O2 + 0.7 kPa CO2) and DCA

Vision‐Assisted Avocado Harvesting with Aerial Bimanual Manipulation
This work outlines the design and implementation of a bimanual aerial robot that employs visual perception and learning to detect, reach, and harvest avocados. A new gripper and fixer arm assembly is used to harvest avocados, while visual perception enables the detection of avocados and estimation of their position and orientation for determining ...

Nondestructive Measurement of Fruit and Vegetable Quality
We review nondestructive techniques for measuring internal and external quality attributes of fruit and vegetables, such as color, size and shape, flavor, texture, and absence of defects. The different techniques are organized according to their physical measurement principle. We first describe each technique and then list some examples.

A carbon nanotube‐based biopesticide system (BioCNTs) enables efficient delivery and systemic movement of RNAi molecules to control major tomato viruses. By integrating shRNA and tRNA‐like structures (TLS) with BioCNTs, this green and scalable approach achieves long‐term silencing and high antiviral efficacy through simple foliar spraying.
