Responses of Musa AAA Berangan to 1-methylcyclopropene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) is an inhibitor of ethylene perception and has been shown to delay the ripening of Cavendish bananas. Nevertheless, no work has reported the delay in the ripening of local bananas using 1-MCP.

Study on differential expression of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid oxidase genes in table grape cv. Thompson Seedless [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
As a consequence of the non-climacteric status of grapes (Vitis vinifera), ethylene biosynthesis and signal transduction have scarcely been studied in this fruit.

Gut Microbial Genetic Variation Prolongs Host Healthy Longevity and Remodels Metabolome and Proteome in Drosophila Melanogaster

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that specific genetic variations in gut‐residing Saccharomyces cerevisiae significantly extend healthspan and lifespan in Drosophila melanogaster. These mutants rejuvenate aged intestinal metabolism, upregulate mitochondrial proteins, and enhance energy pathways.

Ethylene promotes fruit ripening initiation by downregulating photosynthesis, enhancing abscisic acid and suppressing jasmonic acid in blueberry (Vaccinium ashei)

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background Blueberry fruit exhibit atypical climacteric ripening with a non-auto-catalytic increase in ethylene coincident with initiation of ripening. Further, application of ethephon, an ethylene-releasing plant growth regulator, accelerates ripening ...

Bioinspired Brush Reinforced Solid Slippery Coatings for Marine Photovoltaic Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plant cuticles exhibit exceptional liquid repellency and self‐healing properties, providing a novel strategy for the multifunctional self‐cleaning materials. A plant‐inspired solid slippery surface (PI‐SSS) based on surface‐grafted poly(ionic liquid) brushes and lubricating copolymer via ion‐dipole interactions are introduced, effectively protecting ...

Effect of ripening temperature on early-season 'Hass' avocado fruit exocarp colour development and pigmentation during ripening

open access: yesHorticultural Science
South African 'Hass' avocado fruit harvested early season are vulnerable to colour desynchronisation with softening during ripening, reducing their international and local market aesthetic value.

Targeted Delivery of CNS‐Specific Hesperidin as a Leptin Sensitizer for Treating Obesity‐Associated Sleep‐Disordered Breathing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hesperidin nanoparticles (HE NPs) effectively combat obesity and sleep‐disordered breathing in mice by enhancing leptin sensitivity. Through suppression of hypothalamic endoplasmic reticulum stress and restoration of leptin signaling, HE NPs promote weight loss and improve breathing during sleep.

Fruit ripening regulation of α-mannosidase expression by the MADS Box transcription factor RIPENING INHIBITOR and ethylene

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2016
α-Mannosidase (α-Man), a fruit ripening-specific N-glycan processing enzyme, is involved in ripening-associated fruit softening process. However, the regulation of fruit-ripening specific expression of α-Man is not well understood. We have identified and

Florigen and Florigen‐Like Genes Regulate Temperature‐Responsive Flowering in Tomato

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 39, October 20, 2025.
This study uncovers that FLOWERING LOCUS T‐Like 2 (FTL2) and SINGLE‐FLOWER TRUSS (SFT) antagonistically regulate temperature‐responsive flowering in the tomato shoot apical meristem. High temperature induces floral repressor FTL2, which directly inhibits SFT to delay short‐day floral transition, while SFT reciprocally inhibits FTL2 to promote flowering.

Proteomic Analysis of Chloroplast-to-Chromoplast Transition in Tomato Reveals Metabolic Shifts Coupled with Disrupted Thylakoid Biogenesis Machinery and Elevated Energy-Production Components [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A comparative proteomic approach was performed to identify differentially expressed proteins in plastids at three stages of tomato(Solanum lycopersicum) fruit ripening (mature-green, breaker, red). Stringent curation and processing of the data from three
