Abstract Premise Changing climates are leading to more frequent and severe heat waves, potentially threatening plant populations. Both acclimation to stress and selection for heat‐escape or heat‐resistance phenotypes occur during heat waves. However, plastic responses and selection do not necessarily interact cohesively—even producing trait responses ...

Umbelliferous fruit identification by thin-layer chromatography
Abstract Unknown umbelliferous fruits, including powders, may be identified by thin-layer chromatography of petroleum extracts on silicic acid containing fluorescein. The constituents of the essential oils thus extracted are usually diagnostic. The method is particularly useful in distinguishing Indian dill (Anethum sowa Roxb.) from dill

ErZhi formula (EZF) is composed of Ligustri Lucidi Fructus (LLF) and Ecliptae herba (EH). Ovariectomized (OVX) and sham rats received 12‐week intragastric treatment with EZF, alendronate, and vehicle saline. Gastrocnemius tissues were harvested to systematically evaluate pharmacodynamic changes in skeletal muscle morphology, mitochondrial ...

ABSTRACT Silver‐doped cerium oxide nanoparticles (Ag/CeO2 NPs) were synthesized using Ricinus communis seed extract as a bio‐derived fuel in a solution combustion method. The combustion reaction, carried out at 450°C with AgNO3 and (NH4)2[Ce (NO3)6] as metal precursors, produced CeO2 and Ag/CeO2 NPs.

Variation in parrot jaw musculature
Interspecific morphological differences in some superficial jaw muscles of parrots. Abstract Psittaciformes, the order encompassing parrots and their relatives, are highly diverse and generally known for having a strong beaks used for multiple behaviors. The muscles related to the masticatory apparatus should reflect this functional complexity; however,
