Homoisoflavanone Delays Colorectal Cancer Progression via DNA Damage‐Induced Mitochondrial Apoptosis and Parthanatos‐Like Cell Death

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Homoisoflavanone (HIF), a bioactive compound isolated from Polygonatum kingianum, selectively suppresses colorectal cancer progression by inducing DNA damage‐mediated mitochondrial apoptosis and parthanatos‐like cell death. HIF triggers mitochondrial dysfunction, including depolarized membrane potential, elevated ROS, and ATP depletion, while impairing

Identification and screening of plant hormone-related genes associated with dormancy release in Prunus persica seeds using transcriptomics and targeted metabolomics

open access: yesBMC Genomics
Peach (Prunus persica) seeds exhibit low natural germination rates and prolonged germination periods due to deep dormancy, which severely limits seedling propagation efficiency and industrial scalability.

Identification and Expression Analysis of Gretchen Hagen 3 (GH3) in Kiwifruit (Actinidia chinensis) During Postharvest Process

open access: yesPlants, 2019
In plants, the Gretchen GH3 (GH3) protein is involved in free auxin (IAA) and amino acid conjugation, thus controlling auxin homeostasis. To date, many GH3 gene families have been identified from different plant species.

The Mitochondrial Guardian α‐Amyrin Mitigates Alzheimer's Disease Pathology via Modulation of the DLK‐SARM1‐ULK1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dietary habits play a key role in chronic diseases, and higher annual consumption of fruit and vegetable may lower risk of dementia. Artificial intelligence predicts the lipid‐like compound α‐Amyrin (αA) from plants with edible peels as a drug candidate against Alzheimer's disease.

Low YTHDC1 Expression Upregulates FSCN1 to Promote Nuclear F‐Actin Formation and Facilitate Double‐strand DNA Breaks Repair in TMZ‐Resistant Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed that low expression of YTHDC1 in TMZ‐resistant GBM cells leads to increased FSCN1 expression, which is suppressed by m6A modification. FSCN1 activates the CDC42/N‐WASP/Arp2/3 axis in the cell nucleus by recruiting the guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) family member FGD1, thereby promoting F‐actin polymerization in the nucleus.

Photocatalytically Activated Cu‐N1S3 Single‐Atom Nanozyme: Enhancing Enzyme Activities and Antibacterial Synergy for Highly Efficient Fruit Preservation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents S‐coordinated Cu single‐atom nanozymes (Cu/CNS) fabricated via mild photocatalytic self‐assembly strategy. The nanozyme exhibits exceptional multi‐enzyme activity and near‐perfect antimicrobial efficacy. Incorporated into chitosan‐gelatin film, it enables pH‐responsive, broad‐spectrum fruit preservation, more than doubling the shelf‐

‘Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus’ colonization in citrus trees grafted onto rootstocks of citrus relatives

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Horticultural Science
Genetic resistance to ‘Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus’ (CLas) is considered a promising long-term solution to control Huanglongbing (HLB), given that all commercial citrus varieties are susceptible to the disease. Only a few citrus relatives have been
