FTO and Obesity: Mechanisms of Association
Current Diabetes Reports, 2014The Fat mass and obesity associated (FTO) gene is a newly identified genetic factor for obesity. However, the exact molecular mechanisms responsible for the effect of FTO on obesity remain largely unknown. Recent studies from genome-wide associated studies reveal that genetic variants in the FTO gene are associated not only with human adiposity and ...

The role and mechanism of FTO in pulmonary vessels
Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Reviews, 2023Pulmonary vascular remodeling (PVR) is the main factor of pulmonary hypertension (PH). The pathological characteristics of PVR are vascular smooth muscle hyperplasia, hypertrophy, and extensive damage. In vivo experiments, the expression of FTO in PH rat lung tissues of different rat models of hypoxia PH was observed by immunohistochemical method. mRNA

Thickness Dependence of FTO Over-Layer on Properties of FTO/FZO Bilayer
Materials and Manufacturing Processes, 2013To realize transparent conducting oxide (TCO) films with the combined desirable characteristics of both SnO2 and ZnO, SnO2:F/ZnO:F bilayered thin films were fabricated with varying thickness of over-layer using a simplified spray pyrolysis technique. The electrical studies revealed that the bilayered films exhibit lesser sheet resistance (Rsh) than the

Unraveling the Function of FTO Variants
New England Journal of Medicine, 2015Body-mass index (BMI), which represents a complex trait with high heritability, is a clinically relevant surrogate for obesity.1 Genomewide association studies have identified nearly 10,000 genetic polymorphisms in single-nucleotide variants (SNVs) associated with various human disorders and traits.

FTO – SnSe HETEROJUNCTION FOR PHOTOVOLTAIC CONVERSION
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1990FTO/SnSe heterojunctions have been fabricated onto glass substrates. It has been observed that photocurrent shows a maximum around 735 nm. Incident light intensity current characteristics show linearity upto 45 mW ·cm-2, beyond which saturation in short circuit current is obtained. An efficiency ( η) of about 2% is obtained for these cells.

Programming effects of
AbstractIt is becoming increasingly recognized that early‐life nutritional, metabolic and environmental factors can have a long‐term impact on the early onset of obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. Numerous experimental and epidemiological observations support the concept that an individual's response to their adult lifestyle and ...

FTO and Obesity: A Problem for a Billion People
Journal of Neuroendocrinology, 2012SummaryIt is an inescapable fact that obesity results from consuming more energy than you burn. The interesting question, however, is why some people eat more than others? Recent genetic analyses have revealed that variations in the fat mass and obesity‐associated (FTO) gene are robustly associated with obesity and increased food intake.
