Enhancement of Catalytic Activity and Durability of Pt Nanoparticle through Strong Chemical Interaction with Electrically Conductive Support of Magnéli Phase Titanium Oxide

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
In this study, we address the catalytic performance of variously sized Pt nanoparticles (NPs) (from 1.7 to 2.9 nm) supported on magnéli phase titanium oxide (MPTO, Ti4O7) along with commercial solid type carbon (VXC-72R) for oxygen reduction reaction ...

From tumor‐centric to ecosystem‐based hypotheses in brain tumor research and care

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Primary brain tumors, whether in adults or children, present a major challenge because of their dramatic prognosis and the ongoing lack of efficient therapeutic approaches. In recent years, a shift has occurred from tumor‐centric concepts to a more holistic view of these tumors as dynamic ecosystems.

Design and Performance Evaluation of a PEM Fuel Cell – Lithium Battery–Supercapacitor Hybrid Power Source for Electric Forklifts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2016
In this study, we developed a hybrid power source with a direct current (DC) supply system for electric forklifts. Its designs were based on harsh operating conditions, in line with the requirements for the truck. The power source consists of a fuel cell

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Application of Screen Printing in Flexible Miniature Thermocouple Process Development

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2015
Thermocouple is a highly effective means of determining exactly fuel cell temperature. This work presents a method for producing flexible micro thermocouple by using screen printing rather than micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). The proposed method

Single‐cell DNA methylation profiling: Technologies, computation, and applications in precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell DNA methylation (scDNAme) profiling maps epimutational clonal evolution, revealing mechanisms of malignancy and therapeutic resistance across diverse cancer types. By providing a high‐resolution landscape of intratumoral heterogeneity, these technologies empower precise patient stratification, guide the development of enhanced ...

Flexible Multiple Micro Sensor for Local Persistent Effect Test in High Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Stack

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2017
The nonuniformity of local temperature, voltage and current in the high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell stack can accelerate the aging of membrane electrode assembly (MEA) and the failure of overall fuel cell stack.

Multiscale simulation approach to investigate the binder distribution in catalyst layers of high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
A multiscale approach involving both density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations was used to deduce an appropriate binder for Pt/C in the catalyst layers of high-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.
