IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2014
This letter proposes spatial modulated full duplex (SMFD), which applies spatial modulation to a point-to-point full-duplex communication system. The spatial modulation transmits its information bits by transmit antenna selection in addition to symbol modulation, whereas the full-duplex (FD) technique suppresses self-interference leaking from the ...

Proceedings of the 20th annual international conference on Mobile computing and networking, 2014
Enabling wireless full-duplex (from an AP) with multiple half-duplex (HD) clients is key to widespread adoption of full-duplex (FD) in commercial networks. However, enabling FD in such networks is fundamentally challenged by a new form of uplink-downlink interference (UDI), arising between HD clients operating simultaneously in the uplink and downlink ...

Asynchronous full-duplex wireless
2012 Fourth International Conference on Communication Systems and Networks (COMSNETS 2012), 2012The feasibility of a full-duplex physical layer, where a node can transmit and receive at the same time in the same frequency, has been established in recent work. Implicitly, most schemes to-date have assumed synchronous operation which allows clean training of all relevant channels.

Full duplex relaying for local area
2013 IEEE 24th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2013We consider full-duplex multi-hop forwarding in a Beyond 4G local area network. In the network, there is a high density of self-backhauling relay nodes that simultaneously act as access points towards the users, in addition to few nodes with wired backhaul.

Full-Duplex Communication Systems
2019In contrast to conventional half-duplex (HD) transceivers, a full-duplex (FD) transceiver is able to transmit and receive simultaneously in the same frequency band. The main impediment for FD implementation is the self-interference (SI) caused by the strong coupling of the transmitted signal to the receiver chain. Self-interference is usually mitigated

A cooperative jamming protocol for full-duplex relaying with full-duplex receiver
2016 8th International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP), 2016This paper investigates the secrecy performance of a full-duplex relaying (FDR) system with a full-duplex (FD) receiver. A novel cooperative jamming protocol is proposed to improve physical layer security, where the FD receiver sends interference to the eavesdropper to degrade its received signal-to-noise ratio when receiving signals from the relay and

In a crowded electromagnetic spectrum with ever-increasing demand for higher data rates to enable multimedia-rich applications and services, the efficient use of wireless resources becomes crucial. For this reason, full-duplex communication [1]-[4], which increases the capacity of transmission channels by operating the uplink and downlink ...

Full-Duplex Cooperative Networks
2017In this chapter, we introduce Full Duplex (FD) cooperative networks, consisting of one source node, multiple relays, and one destination. We assume that the relay works in a full duplex mode. Due to the residual self-interference in FD relay nodes, the analysis of FD relay systems will become essentially different from conventional relay systems.
