A scientometric analysis of 2449 journal articles and a comprehensive review of 336 papers were conducted, discussing and identifying challenges and research gaps in rockburst prediction and prevention and proposing an ontology‐based framework for better decision‐making in underground excavations. Abstract With underground engineering projects becoming

Water and Artisanal and Small‐Scale Gold Mining: A Review of the Literature
This paper reviews the relationships between artisanal and small‐scale gold mining (ASGM) and water. We show the variegated impacts ASGM has on water and, thus, socio‐ecological systems and health. We conclude by identifying gaps in the scholarship.

Characters Evaluation of Ground Pressure in Fully Mechanized Top Coal Caving Face in Soft Coal Seams
Based on the big thickness, low stiffiness and other characters of No. 8 coal seam in Huaibei mining area, the moving laws of top coal seam and roof, and distribution law of ground pressure were studied under the fully mechanized top coal caving.

Design of Initial Mining Pressure Relief Scheme for Large‐Size Mining Face: A Case Study
The numerical simulation analysis method is used to compare the actual mining face (315 m) with the designed mining face (200 m). The results show that the large mining height working face has larger abutment pressure peak and stress concentration factor than the general mining height working face.
