Function Point Analysis for Software Maintenance

Proceedings of the 10th ACM/IEEE International Symposium on Empirical Software Engineering and Measurement, 2016
Context: Software maintenance is required to fix defects, adapt to changes in the environment, and meet new or changed user requirements. The effort of these tasks need to be estimated to track progress, manage resources, and make decisions. Most widely used cost models use source lines of code (SLOC) as the software size input measure, due to its ...

Function Point Tree-Based Function Point Analysis: Improving Reproducibility Whilst Maintaining Accuracy in Function Point Counting

2020
We propose a method to improve reproducibility whilst keeping accuracy for the Function Point Analysis (FPA) method. The proposed method is based on a new artifact model called Function Point Tree (FPT). FPT enables a standardized and systematic collection of all data required for FP counting.
