Functional and Preliminary Characterisation of Hydrocolloid from Tamarillo (<em>Solanum betaceum</em> Cav.) Puree

open access: yesMolecules, 2012
Hydrocolloid from tamarillo (<em>Solanum betaceum</em> Cav.) puree was extracted using water and characterised for the first time. Proximate compositions of the extracted hydrocolloid were also determined.

Renormalized Functional Renormalization Group

open access: yes, 2018
We construct a new version of the effective average action together with its flow equation. The construction entails in particular the consistency of fluctuation field and background field equations of motion, even for finite renormalization group scales.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Nutritional and functional properties of whey proteins concentrate and isolate

open access: yesMljekarstvo, 2006
Whey protein fractions represent 18 - 20 % of total milk nitrogen content. Nutritional value in addition to diverse physico - chemical and functional properties make whey proteins highly suitable for application in foodstuffs.

Comprehensive Analysis of Chronic Low Back Pain: Morphological and Functional Impairments, Physical Activity Patterns, and Epidemiology in a German Population-Based Cross-Sectional Study

open access: yesBioengineering
Low back pain (LBP) is the leading cause of disability worldwide. While studies often focus on the relationship between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings and symptoms or the link between pain and disability, comprehensive assessments that ...

Functional delta residuals and applications to functional effect sizes

open access: yes, 2020
Given a functional central limit (fCLT) and a parameter transformation, we use the functional delta method to construct random processes, called functional delta residuals, which asymptotically have the same covariance structure as the transformed limit ...

Functional Skills Support Programme: Developing functional skills in physical education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This booklet is part of "... a series of 11 booklets which helps schools to implement functional skills across the curriculum. The booklets illustrate how functional skills can be applied and developed in different subjects and contexts, supporting ...

Functional boundedness of balleans

open access: yes, 2019
We pose some open problems related to boundedness of real-valued functions on balleans and coarse spaces. Also we prove that the Bergman property of groups is a coarse invariant.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Management of early loss of first permanent molar: A new technique

open access: yesJournal of Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, 2012
The loss of a permanent first molar in adolescent patient creates a need for early space maintenance and restoration of function. To ascertain function and esthetics, immediate treatments include interim restorative approaches.
