Functional annotation of genomic sequences of Hevea brasiliensis [PDF]
The rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) is a recent domesticated endemic tree species from Amazonian rain forest. It is an important crop to rubber industries due the latex producing, which has better quality compared to the synthetic rubber.

PANNOTATOR:an automated tool for annotation of pan-genomes [PDF]
Due to next-generation sequence technologies, sequencing of bacterial genomes is no longer one of the main bottlenecks in bacterial research and the number of new genomes deposited in public databases continues to increase at an accelerating rate.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Development of FuGO: An ontology for functional genomics investigations [PDF]
The development of the Functional Genomics Investigation Ontology (FuGO) is a collaborative, international effort that will provide a resource for annotating functional genomics investigations, including the study design, protocols and instrumentation ...

SIFTER search: a web server for accurate phylogeny-based protein function prediction. [PDF]
We are awash in proteins discovered through high-throughput sequencing projects. As only a minuscule fraction of these have been experimentally characterized, computational methods are widely used for automated annotation.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

We have been seeing an evolution in proposals for the best syntax for describing how to mark how a function fails, such that compilers and linkers can much better optimise function calls than at present. These papers were spurred by [WG21 P0709] Zero-overhead deterministic exceptions, which proposes deterministic exception handling for C++, whose ...

At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

Evaluating automatically acquired f-structures against PropBank [PDF]
An automatic method for annotating the Penn-II Treebank (Marcus et al., 1994) with high-level Lexical Functional Grammar (Kaplan and Bresnan, 1982; Bresnan, 2001; Dalrymple, 2001) f-structure representations is presented by Burke et al. (2004b).
