More Than Just Statics: Temporal Dynamic Changes in Inter- and Intrahemispheric Functional Connectivity in First-Episode, Drug-Naive Patients With Major Depressive Disorder

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2022
Several functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies have demonstrated abnormalities in static intra- and interhemispheric functional connectivity among diverse brain regions in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).

Pharmacological inhibition of the PERK pathway modulates hepatocellular carcinoma growth and immune signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Pharmacological inhibition of PERK in a DEN‐induced mouse model of liver cancer does not reduce tumor burden but alters cellular stress signaling. Despite blocking PERK activity, downstream stress responses, including CHOP expression, remain active, suggesting compensatory mechanisms within the unfolded protein response that may influence tumor ...

Classification of single normal and Alzheimer’s disease individuals from cortical sources of resting state EEG rhythms

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2016
Previous studies have shown abnormal power and functional connectivity of resting state electroencephalographic (EEG) rhythms in groups of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) compared to healthy elderly (Nold) subjects.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Predicting outcomes in patients with sepsis-associated encephalopathy using prefrontal functional connectivity analysis

open access: yesScientific Reports
We investigated the relationship between prefrontal functional connectivity of oxyhemoglobin and outcomes in sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE). Additionally, we developed a prognostic method for patients with SAE.

Inhibition of Brain Area and Functional Connectivity in Idiopathic Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss With Tinnitus, Based on Resting-State EEG

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2019
This study aimed to identify the mechanism behind idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL) in patients with tinnitus by investigating aberrant activity in areas of the brain and functional connectivity.

Comparing MEG and high-density EEG for intrinsic functional connectivity mapping

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2020
Magnetoencephalography (MEG) has been used in conjunction with resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) based on band-limited power envelope correlation to study the intrinsic human brain network organization into resting-state networks (RSNs ...

Analysis of double-hybrid density functionals along the adiabatic connection [PDF]

open access: yesMolecular Physics, 2013
We present a graphical analysis of the adiabatic connections underlying double-hybrid density-functional methods that employ second-order perturbation theory. Approximate adiabatic connection formulae relevant to the construction of these functionals are derived and compared directly with those calculated using accurate ab initio methods.
